Ashburn Lake Lodge sits on the rim
of a 40-acre lake surrounded by 220 acres
of woodland, all within city limits just minutes
from uptown Saint John. Despite this closeness to
the city, the lodge and property retain a secluded ambience.

A Rich History
Ashburn Lake Lodge was once the summer residence
of Saint John Dry-dock builder and president, Frank Ross,
who was later appointed lieutenant governor of British Columbia.
The lodge was built in the early 1930’s on
the same site as an 1800’s fishing lodge. In 1945, the
Saint John dry-dock, together with the Ashburn Lake Lodge
was purchased by C.N. Wilson. The lodge and property were
retained by the Wilson Family when the dry-dock was sold in
1955 to K.C. Irving. Since 2001, the property has provided
outdoor education opportunities for area youth and children,
as well as a unique setting for business and special occasion
functions.
